CRP-S Latex Immuno Turbidimetric Assay
Rapid latex-based assay for inflammation marker CRP.
Enables reliable quantification of C-reactive protein levels in serum and plasma samples.
Latex Immunoturbidimetric Assay for Acute Inflammation and Infection Diagnostics
C-reactive protein (CRP) is a major acute-phase protein synthesized by hepatocytes in response to cytokine release following tissue injury or infection. Its serum concentration can rise up to 1,000-fold within hours and is widely used as a sensitive biomarker for inflammation.
CRP binds to phosphocholine on microbial surfaces and damaged cells, triggering the classical complement pathway as part of the innate immune response. This makes it a key indicator for systemic inflammation, infection, and sepsis.
The CRP-S latex immunoturbidimetric assay enables quantitative CRP measurement in human serum or plasma. Latex particles coated with polyclonal goat anti-human CRP antibodies agglutinate upon contact with CRP, with resulting turbidity proportional to the analyte concentration. Measurement is performed photometrically using a standard calibration curve.
NAGASE supplies CRP-S in bulk for OEM integration and clinical diagnostics. Functional principles align with findings by Sproston and Ashworth (Front. Immunol., 9:754, 2018).
